A seasoned executive, Kimra Hawley leads Attenex with more than 20 years of enterprise software experience.
Kimra was the founding CEO of ActionPoint (NASDAQ: ACTP), the leading provider of unstructured document capture and classification for Global 1000 organizations and governmental agencies. In 2002, she became chairman of Captiva Software (NASDAQ: CPTV) following ActionPoint’s merger with Captiva to form the world’s largest provider of enterprise document capture software. Captiva was acquired by EMC (NYSE: EMC) in 2005. Most recently, Kimra was the CEO of iUniverse, Inc., where she repositioned the company to better meet the needs of target constituent in the consumer book publishing industry.
She currently serves on the board of directors for iUniverse, Inc.
Rick Dodd, Partner, K&L Gates
Rick Dodd has, for more than 35 years, represented a number of public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate governance and other business transactions, including public companies such as Microsoft, Labor Ready, T-Mobile (formerly VoiceStream), Western Wireless, Expedia and Starbucks. He is a former chair of the Preston Gates & Ellis business department and is listed in "Best Lawyers in America," "Chambers USA America's Leading Business Lawyers" and "Washington’s Super Lawyers."
Rick holds an LL.M. from New York University, a J.D. from the University of Washington, and a B.S. from the University of San Francisco.
Bill McAleer, Managing Director, Voyager Capital
Bill McAleer is a 30-year business veteran with 18 years of senior executive and equity financing experience in the information technology industry. Since co-founding Voyager Capital in 1997, Bill has participated on the boards of a number of companies and focused on business software and services, digital media and wireless technology. Prior to Voyager, Bill held a number of senior executive positions, including C.F.O of Aldus before its merger with Adobe in 1994.
Bill is active in several industry organizations, including serving as a director for the Washington Software Alliance. He is the chair of the advisory board for the University of Washington Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He also serves on the advisory board for Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Business and a member of the Cornell Council. He has been a featured speaker at industry conferences and panels.
Bill holds a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Cornell University.
Joe Rose, Founder/Principal, Narrow Gate Interests, LLC
Joe Rose brings to the Attenex board a wealth of experience from various content management and business process outsourcing companies. Previously, Joe has served as executive vice president and COO of business process outsourcing company SOURCECORP, Inc., CEO of document automation software and services company FormMaker Software, and has held senior executive management positions with the Harland Company, National Data Corporation and Electronic Data Systems.
In addition to these executive roles, Joe has served on the board of a number of companies, including Captiva Software, where he chaired the nominating and governance committees until the company’s successful merger with EMC in December 2005. Joe is also currently on the nominating and governance committees for People Support (Nasdaq: PSPT), a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) provider.
Joe holds a B.A. from Texas Tech University.
Martin Smith, Partner, Intellectual Property Transactions, Preston Gates & Ellis LLP
With a practice emphasis on information technology, software and computer law, Marty Smith has represented some of the largest companies in the Pacific Northwest for the last 25 years. He advises companies in all aspects of technology development, licensing, exploitation and protection, both domestically and overseas.
Previously, Marty served as group and department chair of the Technology and Intellectual Property practice group at Preston Gates & Ellis. He is included in "An International Who's Who Of E-Commerce Lawyers; Guide to the World's Leading Technology," "Media and Telecommunications Lawyers," "Washington Law & Politics 2002, 2003" and "2005 Super Lawyers." Marty was instrumental in the development of the initial Attenex Patterns e-discovery software, helped found the company and has served on the board of directors since the company's formation. He also serves on the board of the Technology Alliance; the Digital Learning Commons; the Washington State K-20 Network; and the Shidler Center for Law, Commerce and Technology.
Marty holds a J.D. from the University of Washington and a B.A. from Whitman College.
