Attenex and KPMG Co-Host Electronic Discovery Luncheon at Practicing Law Institute’s San Francisco and New York Events

SEATTLE — Nov. 17, 2004 — Attenex® Corp., a developer of electronic document review software for litigation and regulatory response, today announced it will co-host a networking luncheon at the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI) Electronic Discovery Guidance for Corporate Counsel seminars on Nov. 19, 2004, in San Francisco, and Dec. 17, 2004, in New York.

The San Francisco luncheon titled “New Frontiers in Electronic Discovery” will be held at 12:15 p.m. PDT and will be hosted by Skip Walter, CTO of Attenex, and Chris Paskach, National Partner-in-Charge of KPMG LLP Forensic Technology Services. Walter and Paskach will educate their audiences with their in-depth knowledge of the following:

  • Discovery of instant messaging and voicemail
  • Managing terabyte-scale discovery requests
  • Native file document review and retention
  • Unique retention and preservation consideration

PLI’s Electronic Discovery Guidance for Corporate Counsel seminar will provide corporate counsel with the understanding necessary to spot key issues in electronic discovery, as well as up-to-date information on important emerging concerns and court rulings affecting this rapidly developing area of law. Registration for either the San Francisco, which will also include a simultaneous live online broadcast for individual viewing, or New York seminar can be obtained at http://www.pli.edu/ or by calling (800) 260-4754.

Please note that space is limited.

In addition to co-hosting the luncheon, Attenex will be demonstrating its Attenex Patterns® E-Discovery Platform. Attenex Patterns addresses the retrieval issues and costs associated with the increase in the amount of electronically stored information in formats such as e-mail, voicemail, PDAs, floppy disks, etc., by automating the bulk of the clerical and technical processing involved in the response process.

“We believe Attenex is delivering a unique commercial solution, optimized for a specific set of knowledge-oriented business activities — document review for e-discovery,” said Geoffrey Bock, senior vice president, Patricia Seybold Group.

“Attenex Patterns combines content analysis with visualization while focusing on lawyers’ thought processes within the context of a discovery request.”
